Make Maskne A Thing Of The Past

Masks have become a new part of our everyday life. The need to wear them often has come with a new experience for our skin. A term coined maskne is starting to affect many of with our daily wear of mask. Maskne isn't new for many in the health care field, it has always been an issue for those that have worn them for their profession for years. What is maskne? It is acne caused by wearing your mask. Whenever we breathe or talk with our mask on hot air gets trapped inside. This then creates a warm environment that can harbor bacteria and allow other flora to grow. We came up with a few tips on how to help with your maskne breakouts.

Use a cotton face mask when possible. This will allow your skin to breathe and will avoid the harsh chemicals used to create other masks from touching your skin. Remember to properly wash your masks after using.

Protect your skin with Herbal Lip Balm. You may be wondering how a lip balm can help your skin. The balm contains beeswax which acts as a barrier between your breakouts and the friction of the mask. It also contains Tea Tree essential oil which works wonders on acne.

Use Tea tree essential oil as a spot treatment. Tea tree has anti-inflammatory properties that help calm the redness, inflammation, and swelling acne may cause. It is also known to prevent and reduce acne scarring.
