How To Use The Allergy Blend

Suffering from allergies is not fun to deal with. Millions of people all around the world deal with allergies whether it be daily or seasonal. That's why we created the Allergy essential oil blend! This blend helps relieve allergy symptoms using essential oils like Peppermint, Eucalyptus, and Lemongrass that are anti-inflammatory and antihistamine.
What are allergies? Allergies start when the body responds to a substance, like pollen, as something that is harmful, called an allergen. This results in the body reacting to this allergen, causing the immune system to react and release a histamine. This causes the allergy symptoms. Spring is a time when most people's allergies flare up because of the amount of pollen in the air. Other things that can cause an allergic reaction is pet dander and mold.
So how can you use this blend? One of the easiest ways is to use it in your diffuser. How much oil you add to the water depends on how much water your diffuser holds. A general rule of thumb is 3 to 5 drops of the essential oil blend per 100ml of water. So if your diffuser holds 400ml, add 12 to 20 drops of essential oil. If you want the smell really strong, you can add more drops, but adding too much oil may clog the diffuser. You can also put a few drops onto a tissue and smell throughout the day if you do not have a diffuser.
Another way to use this blend is using it topically by creating a roll on. To make your own roll on, dilute 5-10 drops per 5 ml of a carrier oil such as jojoba or sweet almond oil in a roll on bottle. Apply to places like the wrists, behind the ears, or on the bottom of the feet. As with any oil or oil blend, you should test out the oil by applying to the inner bend of your arm first to see if it causes redness or irritation. If it does, do not use topically as your skin may be too sensitive.
You can also make your own aromatherapy mist for allergy relief on the go! For a 4oz bottle, add 15-20 drops of Allergy blend with either water or aloe vera, (the water kind, not the gel kind). Shake before using and spray into the air and breathe deep. You can spray it topically as well, on the body like your arms or clothes, just make sure you don't spray it on easily stained clothes like satin.
