Anointing Oil
Anointing the forehead before yoga or a meditation session with the appropriate essential oils can help bring a deep sense of calm and peace. Scent can subconsciously affect you, so bringing soothing aromas into these sessions can be important for spiritual focus!
To make an anointing oil:
15-25 Drops Essential Oil (Try Sandalwood, Frankincense, Myrrh or Anoint Blend)
1oz Carrier Oil
Apply small amount to forehead. Store in a glass amber bottle out of sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Diffusing
Essential oils are wonderful to diffuse before a class or even before you leave for work in the morning! Try these uplifting recipes in your diffuser:

Yoga Mat Spray
Don’t let your yoga mat get yucky! This simple spray is easy to make and use and will help kill bacteria and germs living on your mat or a community mat. 1 Glass Amber Bottle with Spray Cap
12 drops Tea Tree
12 Drops Lavender
60 ml Water (or witch hazel)
Mix and spray on yoga mat then wipe off with a towel.
Breathing
Focusing on breathing is an important aspect of Yoga and meditation. Try this simple recipe and apply a small amount to the chest to help open the airways.
5 Drops Peppermint or Breath Easy
1 oz Carrier Oil (we suggest Jojoba)
You can also apply the essential oils to a tissue and breathe deeply or apply one drop to your palm, rub hands together, place your hands over your nose and breathe deeply 2 – 3 times. Try these oils:
Sweet Orange – uplifting
Bergamot – relaxing
Lavender – calming
Frankincense – grounding
